Hi all!

Today I have been working on my Yoga Philosophy Knowledge. It turns out yoga has a pretty rich history. Having been practised for over 5,000 years, it's no surprise. I've been researching the different periods of yogas history, all the way from the Vedic period to modern day yoga.

My aim this week is to do 7 hours of practice, with at least one of those hours being meditation. Last week I tried meditating for the first time outside of a yoga class. It was great! So, I have decided to try and do more. As someone who thrives on being busy, it was a slight struggle to let go of the to-do list in my mind. However, it was definitely worth it, I was able to focus even better afterwards, and got my yoga journal up to date.

If you are interested in trying out meditation, or you are looking for classes you can do in your own time, definitely do! I use a website called Movement for Modern Life, you can get 14 days free before making a commitment. If you practice regularly, but can't commit to classes due to time clashes or financially, this is definitely worth it. I do 4 or 5 of these classes a week at the moment.

Interesting Fact: The word yoga has been derived from the Sanskrit word 'yuj' meaning union.
